Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, and alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response. The RN serves as an advocate in the care of individuals and families while ensuring compliance with the New York State Nurse Practice Act and relevant nursing standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients.
• Educate patients and families in health promotion and disease management.
• Administer medications safely according to hospital policy.
• Participate in nursing practice standards and regulatory compliance.
• Engage in professional development and continuing education.
• Integrate nursing research and evidence into practice.
• Provide a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
• Assume Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator responsibilities when assigned.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current New York State Registered Nurse License.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• 3 years of current experience working in an Emergency Department, including trauma, STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and pediatric care.
