Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) – Nights

Location: Watertown, NY

Contract Length: 13 Weeks

Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Start Date: 12-15-2025

Pay Rate: $65 to $75 /hr

Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

On Call: No

Radius Rule: 100 miles

Job Description

Nurse America is seeking experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses in Buffalo, NY to join a top-performing Women & Children’s Unit in Watertown, NY. This is a 13-week travel assignment working night shift with guaranteed hours. Ideal candidates are highly skilled in L&D, comfortable in fast-paced environments, and able to provide safe, compassionate care to mothers and newborns.

Responsibilities

• Perform vaginal exams and assess labor progress
• Circulate C-sections and assist in the OR
• Recover patients following spinal anesthesia
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and contraction activity
• Recognize and respond quickly to maternal/fetal complications
• Provide care and support during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Collaborate with OB physicians, anesthesia, and NICU teams
• Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation (Epic/Cerner preferred)
• Uphold safety, infection control, and emergency protocols

Requirements

• Active NYS RN License
• BLS & NRP certifications required
• Minimum 1–2 years recent L&D experience
• Proficiency with:
• Vaginal exams
• C-section circulation
• Fetal monitoring
• Recovery of spinal anesthesia
• Strong critical thinking and emergency-response skills
• Ability to work in high-stress situations
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• Must comply with 100-mile radius rule
